Taken at 5:30am across from Lake Tanuki, in Shizuoka, Japan earlier this summer. This was part of a spur-of-the-moment road trip on my own, driving out in the middle of the night and wandering around the lake looking for the perfect vantage point. Several hours of waiting later, I was able to take this photo.
10-stop Heliopan ND filter was used to open the shutter long enough to smooth over the ripples on the lake's surface, which was otherwise quite choppy due to a brisk morning breeze.
