There is fantastic history to this Bridge and we love it. Ken Burns, the famous documentary director made a 2 hour history which you should see when you return home. It is still to this day an engineering marvel of a genius and his son.

I live on the East River by the Queensborough Bridge / 59 Street and can give you a walking tour and history, but only if you have the time. Do not feel obligated as I know you are on holiday.
