Do you have to use an external VF?\n\n\n Hi Vaperture, the Zeiss Distagon 15mm is not rangefinder coupled for focus so you just have to guess but with such a wide angle its not really necessary only on subjects less than 7ft and then only if you're shooting wide open at f2.8 as everything will be in focus from 1ft to infinity if you set the lens to say f8. All of the photo's in my profile shot with this lens have been taken without a tripod and without the 15mm finder I only use the finder for people shots. Hope this helps, by the way I love this lens and could shoot all day and every day with it its such a first class and interesting lens to work with. ;-)
