Stephen, You have been spoiled by the 21 Distagon with it's endlesss depth of field. The 50 1.4 is a wonderful all purpose lens - also my portrait lens of choice - the colors are spectacular. As far as a landscape lens - I have found I really have to shoot it at f11 or higher. The 35 f2 ZE is my favorite landscape tool - much better depth of field with a reasonable angle of view. Rick
