This picture is by no means a technical marvel, but I still like it a lot. The reason why I like this picture very much is because of her posture, the look! (the contact!!), the expression, the smile. So young and so conscious.

The background is as follows; I was in India (Pushkar Camel fair to be more precise), and I was sitting outside in a cafe and watching the people passing by (there were a lot of people!). India is like a kaleidoscope, an incredibly fascinating country, (unfortunately the locals are usually a pain in the a**, but that's another discussion).

Anyway, I was sitting in this cafe and watching the people passing by, I had the camera fully visible and I was in no way trying to hide my intentions (to photograph).

The reason I thought it was important to be clear about my intentions is partly because I was in a foreign country and not everyone appreciates being photographed, especially women. Now, photographing women in India may not be a big problem, but in any case.

Well, back to this young lady. So, she came walking and her charisma caught my interest. I followed her for a short while with my eyes and thought to myself; I have to take a picture of her! So, I lift the camera, follow her with the camera and make contact with her. "Click"!

Even though it has been almost eight (8) years since I took this picture, I can remember this moment as if it were yesterday. I hope that more people discover what I think I see when I took this picture.
