Terrific Portrait Joe,

The 85 1.4 is, IMO, the perfect Portrait lens - (as you have demonstrated!) As far as switching to the 135 - although it may be killer sharp as they say - it also weighs quite a bit more than the 85 and requires a lot more studio space for a similar shot as above.

Nice work,

Rick

Good Idea Steve. The zoom is a great lens for shooting my son at soccer, but it's a big heavy beast. Other than the sports, when I look at all of the shots I've taken, they seem to be around the 130 mm field of view. When I bought the camera, I chose the 85 due to limited space in home and could only afford to buy one lens.

Congratulations Dan! I'm sure you are already loving your new tools.

Friend has the ZA135mm. A Killer Lens, probably better than the ZA 85mm. Definitely one for your style of Photography. Trouble is, you may take a hit on the Zoom. If you look around, it is always possible someone might consider a direct swap with a slight cash adjustment if at all necessary. Might be worth the cost of a few Ads in a couple of suitable photography journals. You have little to loose that way. Steve

Hi 'joey,
I just received my A900 before Christmas and also the ZA 135. Love the combo but its all I can do to keep from ordering the 85 which resides in my B&H shopping cart. It's all about priorities so I'll hold off as long as I can. Again, great shot with her flowing hair and interesting expression.

Thank you all. The ZA 85 is my favorite lens for my 900. I'm looking at dumping the 70-200G and buying the ZA 135.

Man! I'm starting to like this ZA 85/1,4 a lot more. This is a really good photo and you caught the subject perfectly!
